Strong Channel Magnets

Neodymium rare earth channel magnets are engineered for applications that require both superior strength and impact resistance.

Each countersunk channel or block magnet is encased in a steel channel which helps protect the magnet from breaking due to repeated impact - while also enhancing its magnetic pull force as well. As a result, these channel magnets provide superior value (i.e., more pull force for less money) than regular neodymium block magnets - with plenty of versatility.

What are channel magnets?

Channel magnets are standard countersunk neodymium block magnets with the N or S surface encased in a metal shell or channel made of ferromagnetic steel. This protective steel channel dramatically increases the sturdiness and impact resistance of the magnet - while also increasing the strength or pull force of the magnet itself at the same time. As a result, channel magnets deliver increased value by providing added pull force at a lower cost.

Commonly used for holding, mounting, and positioning applications - channel magnets are also utilized to hold metal objects in place, such as doors, windows, and cabinets. They are also widely used for attaching signs, lights, shelves, artwork, and other fixtures to metal surfaces. Plus, channel magnets are also typically found in most forms of machinery, as they can hold metal parts in place during the manufacturing process.

What makes channel magnets so strong?

Channel magnets offer a great value due to their ability to amplify an individual magnet's strength. The channel itself is made of ferromagnetic steel, which means it can be magnetized by induction and develops its own magnetic field. This additional magnetic surface adds to the overall pull force of the magnet - making the magnet stronger than it would be without the steel cup.

This is why steel is often used in the construction of magnets, such as in the housing of channel and pot or cup magnets. It makes the magnet more effective at attracting and holding other ferromagnetic materials - as well as providing added value for an improved bottom line.
