Project research and, yes, it worked

Project research and, yes, it worked well. Specifications provided by company were remarkably accurate. That accuracy made purchase a good buy for our needs.

Perfect for magnetic money clips

I used them for a magnetic cash flap on one of the styles of wallets I make and they’re great. I was getting them from a local hardware store but they’re half the price ordering them direct

Tiny but mighty

These are strong but tiny. Perfect for my magnet projects.

Neodymium Magnet Basics

What are neodymium magnets?

Neodymium magnets, also called NdFeB or neo magnets, are permanent magnets made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron. They are the strongest type of permanent magnet sold today, so a small neodymium magnet holds far more than a ceramic magnet of the same size. Compare neodymium with other magnets.

Are neodymium magnets rare earth magnets?

Yes. Rare earth magnets are a family with two main types, neodymium and samarium cobalt, and neodymium is the stronger and more common of the two. How the two types differ.

What do N35, N42 and N52 mean?

The number after the N is the material's maximum energy product in megagauss-oersteds (MGOe). Higher numbers are stronger: an N52 magnet pulls about 25% harder than an N42 magnet of the same size. Standard grades are rated to 80°C (176°F), and grades with a letter suffix, such as SH (150°C), handle more heat. Choosing between N42 and N52.

Are neodymium magnets safe?

Yes, with care. They can snap together and pinch skin, chip or shatter into sharp pieces, and cause life-threatening internal injuries if two or more are swallowed, so keep them away from children and pets. Their fields can also affect pacemakers and other medical implants. Read the safety and handling guide.
