Each set of adhesive disc magnets includes 20pcs with the adhesive on the north pole, and 20pcs with adhesive on the south pole. This allows you to pair them together to create magnetic latches, fasteners, and other closures. Both the north and south poles will be attracted and attach to ferromagnetic materials.

Adhesive Usage Instructions and Best Practices
3M VHB adhesive works best on smooth, clean, and non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass, plastics (like acrylic and polycarbonate), painted or powder-coated surfaces, and sealed wood. For optimal adhesion, surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.
Due to the incredible strength of neodymium, we strongly recommend allowing 24 to 36 hours for the adhesive to cure.
However, for porous materials like raw wood, concrete, fabric, or unsealed surfaces, traditional glue or liquid adhesives provide a stronger bond, as VHB tape relies on full surface contact to achieve its high-strength hold.

I've been making a western 'cuff saver' for my jeans. I attach them to a strip of leather (belt material) and folded in half, they hold up the back of my jeans so I don't walk on them. Western jeans need to be extra long as they creep up while riding. These 'savers' function like a spur to keep the denim off the ground when not riding. The magnets are plenty strong to hold through the layers of denim. The magnet was exactly what I needed.
