Strong Neodymium Disc Magnets for Sale

Explore our wide-ranging collection of permanent neodymium disc magnets available for sale. Our premium round rare earth NdFeB magnets are offered in popular grades such as from N35, N42, and N52, and are available for bulk purchase at discounted and wholesale prices. Whether you need small disc magnets with a mere 1/10 inch diameter, or robust large powerful disc magnets capable of holding up to 75 lbs, our extensive selection of disc shaped magnets are suitable for virtually any application.

Neodymium disc magnets, commonly referred to as "NdFeb," "NIB," or "Neo," stand out as the most potent rare-earth magnets available today. These magnets, offered in both disc and cylinder shapes, boast magnetic properties surpassing all other permanent magnet materials and feature rounded sides and a flat top and bottom. The energy outputs range from 35 MGOe to 52 MGOe, and have remanences as high as 14,800 Gauss. Neodymium disc magnets are known their exceptional magnetic strength, moderate pricing, and reliable performance in various temperatures, and they have become the preferred choice for a wide range of applications in industries, technology, commerce, and consumer products.

Pull Force Information

The pull force rating of neodymium disc magnets is a useful reference point for comparing different magnet strengths. However, it's crucial to recognize that real-world conditions can significantly affect the actual magnetic strength experienced. The pull force information displayed on our site is tested in ideal circumstances using a 1/2 inch thick iron plate, pulling straight up and off the flat surface. Outside factors such as the placement coatings, rust, surface irregularities, environmental conditions, and the presence of air gaps or other materials between the magnet and the object can lead to a noticeable reduction in performance. It's always important to conduct tests with your specific application to determine the pull force required. For more, reference What Does Pull Force Mean.

Magnetization Directions

The vast majority of the disc magnets available for sale on our website are axially magnetized, meaning the magnetic field runs through its thickness, and each pole resides on the disc's flat surfaces. We also have several disc magnets that are diametrically magnetized, meaning that the poles are on the rounded sides of the disc rather than the flat top and bottom. For more information about magnetization directions, reference the Neodymium Magnetization Directions page.

Coating Options

Most of the disc magnets we have in our store have a premium triple-layer coating consisting of Nickel - Copper - Nickel (NiCuNi). This helps protect the magnet from environmental elements that could otherwise compromise its performance over time. Additionally, the NiCuNi coating enhances the magnet's durability, ensuring a longer lifespan. While this coating protects the magnets in most normal use cases, repeated or extended exposure to moisture will cause them to rust. For applications that require corrosion resistance, we have both epoxy and plastic-coated magnets available.

Sizes & Tolerances

Our disc magnets range in size from tiny diameters like 0.10 inch all the way up to large sizes as big as 1.50 inches. The tolerance on all our neodymium disc magnets is + / - 0.004" unless otherwise noted. For applications that require a tighter tolerance, please contact us. If you don't see the size you need, let us know, and we will be happy to quote it for you as a custom item.

Maximum Operating Temperature

The maximum operating temperature for neodymium disc magnets is generally 80°C (176°F). If your application requires that the magnet exceed that temperature, there are high-temperature grades that may work for you. Learn more about the various grades of neodymium material available on the Neodymium Magnet Grades page.

Safety Information

It's important to handle neodymium magnets carefully. Magnets are not toys, and should be kept away from children and pets. Small disc magnets can pose a choking hazard, while large powerful magnets can pinch your fingers or cause other injuries. For more information, review our Magnet Safety Information page.
